Kentucky Banking at a New Level

About

A Proud History

First Kentucky Bank was founded in Mayfield, Kentucky, on March 6, 1899, as The Exchange Bank. Our founders — Dr. D.R. Merritt, R.E. Lochridge, John Watts, J.W. Minton, and G.W. Pryor — were prominent businessmen who believed that the success of the bank would be directly linked to the prosperity of the communities it serves.

In this spirit, First Kentucky Bank was established with a foundation of community-minded service and professional excellence that has allowed it to grow throughout its rich history, in times of both prosperity and adversity.

In 2001, the bank expanded its footprint beyond Mayfield and Graves County when it acquired the banking offices in Muhlenberg and Ohio counties. The bank also changed its name to First Kentucky Bank to reflect the excitement of one of Kentucky's fastest growing financial service organizations.

The openings of two beautiful banking facilities in Bardwell and Grand Rivers in 2007 are proof positive that the entrepreneurial spirit of our founders is alive and well at First Kentucky Bank — which has grown from that lone office at the corner of 7th and West Broadway over a century ago to a $350 million institution with eleven offices in six counties (Graves, Carlisle, Marshall, Livingston, Muhlenberg, and Ohio) of western Kentucky.

First Kentucky Bank is a healthy financial institution with a sterling reputation and commitment to sound business principles. To see the bank's latest Statement of Condition, click here.
